Modern smartphones support data transfer via Wi-Fi and mobile network. But not all of them work the same way: some better, some worse. Today we will find out what are the best smartphones for Internet.

Budget smartphones often do not have support for new Wi-Fi standards, which are more advanced and fast (for example, 802.11n and 802.11ac). Such devices cannot get a place in the list of the best smartphones for Internet. The first condition for getting a smartphone in our list below is mandatory support networks Wi-Fi 802.11n and 802.11ac versions.
There is also a high-speed standard 802.11ad (known as WiGig), operating at a frequency near 60 GHz. But there are no devices with its support yet.
Many inexpensive smartphones are not able to operate in LTE mobile networks, in which data transmission is faster than in 2G and 3G networks. Formally LTE standard provides data transfer rates up to 100 Mb / s and receiving 40 Mb / s.
LTE-Advanced is available in several versions with different speeds. The most common categories of LTE-A are:
The most high-speed are Cat. 9 and Cat. 12. Impressive speeds achieved by combining multiple frequency channels for parallel use. We decide that support LTE-Advanced is the second criterion to choose the best smartphone for Internet.
Smartphones are not only demonstrate high performance, but differ in the support of modern communication interfaces. They are equipped with modules Wi-Fi 2.4 and 5 GHz bands working on protocols 802.11a / b / g / n / ac. Theoretically, the chipset is able to work even with Wi-Fi module 802.11ad standard, but there is no official confirmation. Depending on the region, it provides support for all current cellular standards, up to LTE Cat. 12/13 (up to 600/150 MB / s transmission / reception). LTE-U is also pending.
Xiaomi Mi Max chipset has an average price, unlike Galaxy S7. However, smartphone also works with Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac, in 2.4 and 5 GHz. In this way it is possible to achieve speeds of 300 Mbit / s. Xiaomi Mi Max supports LTE Cat Network. 12, which will allow it to accelerate in the near future up to 450 Mbit / s.
HTC One M9 is equipped with Snapdragon 810 chipset, which for its time was even too advanced. At the moment of release the chip LTE Cat 9 was not so much. Wi-Fi is working with networks of 802.11a / b / g / n / ac, and supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz.
New flagship smartphone from HTC supports LTE Cat. 12/13 (600/150 Mbit / s). Also it has wireless internet and Wi-Fi technology 802.11a / b / g / n, and ac (2.4 and 5 GHz).
ZTE Nubia Z9 Max is equipped with a processor that supports LTE Cat.9. It means that user has the speeds up to 450 Mbit / s. Interestingly, that almost identical device, ZTE Nubia Z9 officially declared only for Cat.6 networks. Wi-Fi operates at frequencies of 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, in all standards (from a to ac).
LG G Flex 2 is designed to work in LTE networks on Cat. 9 inclusive (450 Mbit / s). According to others, it provided only LTE Cat. 6 (up to 300 Mbit / s). Wireless network module supports Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n / ac.
Google Nexus 6P modem is responsible for network communication, supports LTE Cat. 6 (up to 300 Mbit / s per). Wireless Wi-Fi module can work in networks of 2.4 and 5 GHz, standards 802.11a / b / g / n / ac.
