The number of Chinese Internet audience reached 650 million people

Information Center of China Internet infrastructure (CNNIC) published the results of the research network space at the end of the PRC in 2014.

It is reported that the number of Internet users reached 649 million China people. Although growth has slowed somewhat, compared to 2013 the number of web users in the country has risen to 31 million.

Approximately 86% of Chinese Internet surfers, or 557 million people go online with mobile devices. The total penetration of Internet access in China is 47.9%.

CNNIC said that China’s growing number of users of online trading platforms and payment services. At the same time the popularity of microblogging falls. Reduced the demand for smartphones: in 2013, the PRC was sold 423 million “smart” mobile devices, in the past year – 389 million.

According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the number of Internet users worldwide in 2014 exceeded 3 billion people. Thus, approximately 22% of the total number of web surfers live in China.

We also add that, according to the calculations of GfK, the end of 2014 the penetration rate of Internet access among the Russian population aged 16 years and older was 67.5%. Thus, the number of network audience in this age group in our country has exceeded 80 million people.
